Oh, the Humanity!

The Pentagon has released over 100 documents of Iraqi prisoner “abuse” cases due to a freedom of information request filed by the ACLU. These documents reveal what so many people have feared over the last two years. The outrages and inhumane acts of the evil Republican Empire is brought to bare by the honorable and patriotic American Civil Liberties Union. I implore you, do not read any further if your have a weak stomach; for it is these types of atrocities that our brave men and women have been labeled “Nazis” and compared to the forces of Stalin.

WASHINGTON - U.S. special operations forces fed some Iraqi detainees only bread and water for up to 17 days, used unapproved interrogation practices such as sleep deprivation and loud music and stripped at least one prisoner, according to a Pentagon report on incidents dating to 2003 and 2004…The report concludes that the detainees' treatment was wrong but not illegal and reflected inadequate resources and lack of oversight and proper guidance rather than deliberate abuse.

Are you shocked? They were only fed bread and water…those evil Nazi bastards! How could they do that to those poor insurgents? And they played loud music…It’s like these prisoners were in hell on earth. [That’s sarcasm for my friends on the left]

The ACLU was fighting quite hard for the release of these documents in the hopes that they would contain human rights violations. They wanted these documents to have reports of prisoner abuse so they could use it as ammunition against the Administration and in particular the U.S. military. Unfortunately for them, and other anti-war groups, they found only cases of what some would consider slight mistreatment (what I consider perfectly fine).

If you recall, Senator Kennedy weighed in on the alleged prisoner abuse scandal that took place in Iraqi prisons. “We now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management, U.S. management.” Ahh, don’t you love that ole, we support the troops but they're uncontrollable torturers line that liberals tend to use. We know you hate the troops Teddy; you don’t have to try to hide it.

This new story reminds me of the former Gitmo prisoner who
praised his American captors; When all of the fabricated hype of systematic torture came crashing down on those who wish to condemn the United States and its military. Prisoners here are in paradise," he says. "American people are very good. Really. They give us three meals. Fruit juice and everything!" -Abdul Hakim Bukhary. Admitted terrorist-fighter, former Gitmo Detainee-
Kennedy compares the military to the forces of Hussein; Durbin compared the US forces at Gitmo to the Nazis, John Murtha labels Marines in Haditha cold blooded killers, but a terrorist who was formally housed at Guantanamo Bay praised the American forces…go figure
