Hey Gorry Gore! I’ll Have Another

When it walks like bullshit and talks like bullshit, then chances are that it must be... Al Gore. -Now it’s not like I’m rooting for global warming but if I were global warming and my spokesman was Al freakin Gore, I would spawn a super tornado to dislodge his head from his carbon emitting ass.

-
Global Warming Claims Melt Under Scientific Scrutiny-
Many of the assertions Gore makes in his movie, ''An Inconvenient Truth,'' have been refuted by science, both before and after he made them. Gore can show sincerity in his plea for scientific honesty by publicly acknowledging where science has rebutted his claims.

For example, Gore claims that Himalayan glaciers are shrinking and global warming is to blame. Yet the September 2006 issue of the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate reported, "Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame."

Gore claims the Antarctic ice sheet is melting because of global warming. Yet the Jan. 14, 2002, issue of Nature magazine reported Antarctica as a whole has been dramatically cooling for decades. More recently, scientists reported in the September 2006 issue of the British journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society Series A: Mathematical, Physical, and Engineering Sciences, that satellite measurements of the Antarctic ice sheet showed significant growth between 1992 and 2003. And the U.N. Climate Change panel reported in February 2007 that Antarctica is unlikely to lose any ice mass during the remainder of the century.

Gore claims global warming is causing more frequent and severe hurricanes. However, hurricane expert Chris Landsea published a study on May 1 documenting that hurricane activity is no higher now than in decades past. Hurricane expert William Gray reported just a few days earlier, on April 27, that the number of major hurricanes making landfall on the U.S. Atlantic coast has declined in the past 40 years...

Gore argues Greenland is in rapid meltdown, and that this threatens to raise sea levels by 20 feet. But according to a 2005 study in the Journal of Glaciology, "the Greenland ice sheet is thinning at the margins and growing inland, with a small overall mass gain." In late 2006, researchers at the Danish Meteorological Institute reported that the past two decades were the coldest for Greenland since the 1910s.

Phew! For a minute there I thought global warming was in my backyard ready to burn me alive. I guess now I can have a barbeque on the 4th of July. -The article lists more examples of contradictory evidence if you care to read the entire thing.

The War on Fox News Continues

There’s nothing like devout liberal NY Times columnists who launch into tired diatribes about right-leaning media coverage. -I mean, after all, Fox News is a threat to our democracy.

(Paul Krugman, NY Times) -The Murdoch Factor- In October 2003, the non-partisan Program on International Policy Attitudes published a study titled 'Misperceptions, the media and the Iraq war'.

It found that 60 per cent of Americans believed at least one of the following: clear evidence had been found of links between Iraq and Al-Qaida; WMD had been found in Iraq; world public opinion favoured the United States going to war with Iraq.

The prevalence of these misperceptions, however, depended crucially on where people got their news. Only 23 per cent of those who got their information mainly from PBS or NPR believed any of these untrue things, but the number was 80 per cent among those relying primarily on Fox News.

In particular, two-thirds of Fox devotees believed that the United States had “found clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with the Al-Qaida terrorist organisation”.

The problem with Murdoch isn't that he's a right-wing ideologue. If that were all he was, he'd be much less dangerous. What he is, rather, is an opportunist who exploits a rule-free media environment - one created, in part, by conservative political power - by slanting news coverage to favour whoever he thinks will serve his business interests.

In the US, that strategy has mainly meant blatant bias in favour of the Bush administration and the Republican Party -

Instead, they usually convey misinformation through innuendo. During the early months of the Iraq occupation, for example, Fox gave breathless coverage to each report of possible WMDs, with little or no coverage of the subsequent discovery that it was a false alarm.

Last year, Fox relentlessly pushed claims that the “liberal media” were failing to report the “good news” from Iraq.

Once that line became untenable - well, the Project for Excellence in Journalism found that in the first quarter of 2007 daytime programmes on Fox News devoted only 6 per cent of their time to the Iraq war, compared with 18 per cent at MSNBC and 20 per cent at CNN.

In any case, do we want to see one of America's two serious national newspapers in the hands of a man who has done so much to mislead so many...?

Maybe Congress should hold hearings. If Murdoch does acquire The Journal, it will be a dark day for America's news media - and American democracy.

Just a quick side note: the Media overwhelming
support Democrats and the BBC has admitted it carries a leftist bias.

Can’t We All Just Hate Each Other

I hate liberals... who doesn’t, right?. But still I thought that if I could find a few similarities between us, we could all just get along. And after a few minutes of reflection I realized that yeah, we aren’t that different after all.

--I like the military
liberals pretend to like the military

--I love America
Liberals pretend to love America

--I believe there is a war on terror
Liberals believe we should lose the war that they don’t think is the war on terror.

--I wanted to see Saddam Hussein Hanged
Liberals want to see George Bush Hanged

--I believe that the United States is a beacon of freedom
And Liberals use freedom to slander the United States

Now you see! Maybe after we strip away the rhetoric we can come together in a show of unity. I for one am looking at these America-hating, terrorist-sympathizing, non-shower-taking hippie idiots in a whole new light. I hope you can do the same.

Deadliest Catch

For three years now, the Deadliest Catch has been one of the best shows on television. For those who have followed the adventure you know how hard it is not to watch every new episode. For me it’s almost like a football game in that I have a case of beer and occasionally some friends over to watch.

If you haven’t seen the series you can find
deadliest catch info @ wikipedia or watch episodes @ the Discovery Channel website

I’ve come to really like the skipper and crew of the Time Bandit. Especially the skip Jonathan Hillstrand. His exuberant personality always gets me to root for him and it was amazing when he saved the man-overboard in the beginning of the King Crab season.

Of course you gotta like the Northwestern with Sig and Edgar Hansen. And you can’t forget about the Cornelia Marie. Deckhand Jake Harris is one of my favorite because he seems to hold his own even though he’s young. Phil is also one of my favorite captains because when he gets pissed off he explodes. But he gets the job done.

All in all, these guys are awesome. They put their life on the line in almost unimaginable circumstances and they do it because they love it. I wish them continued success and continued safety. -thanks for a great television experience.

Their Stupidity Scares Me

Dems Want to Cut and Run ----- From Afghanistan!
It’s not enough that Democratic leaders spent the last few years slandering the American military and undermining the war in Iraq, they had to find other ways to seem important while simultaneously stabbing the United States in the back. And by golly, these morons found one:

(
The Hill.Com) Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii), a senior defense authorizer, wants the U.S. out of Afghanistan immediately, calling operations there “futile” in trying to effect political change in a country with a tangled history…

“There is no useful purpose for our troops there,” Abercrombie stated in a recent interview. “The military should withdraw now,” he said, though he stressed that the U.S. could keep “isolated pockets” of special operators.

Instead of using the military to effect political change, the U.S. should have a complete diplomatic re-engagement in the region, “with an understanding that our role there should change,” Abercrombie added…

Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and a staunch opponent of the war in Iraq, said that it is time for the U.S. military to start leaving Afghanistan and the Middle East altogether.

“We are not securing America by being there,” she pressed. “The longer we are there, the more plots start growing in our country.”…

Meanwhile, several anti-war members, including Reps. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.), Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), stress that any troop withdrawal from Afghanistan is inextricably linked to the military’s first leaving Iraq.

That doesn’t just take the cake. That takes the cake, flips it sideways, and shoves it up the ass of spacetime itself. These people are so stupid that even their stupidity doesn’t make sense. For example, Rep. Neil Abercrombie called Afghan operations ‘futile’ and claimed that ‘there is no useful purpose for our troops there.’ Yet, he wants to keep ‘isolated pockets’ of special forces intact.

And again with this diplomacy stuff. What does that even mean? And who exactly are we being diplomatic with? Not to mention that if the left feels that fighting terrorist organizations in the Middle East isn’t helping to secure the United States, then why call for diplomacy as an alternative option to killing them?

Where To Go From Here

I’m not exactly where I wanted to be when I started blogging back in May 2004 but I think I’ve come quite a ways since then. I’ve met some good blogger friends during the time and my traffic flow is Okay; all of which I appreciate. Most importantly, I found that I actually enjoy expressing myself in such a forthright manner.

I’ve always tried to post material that wasn’t the same mundane crap you can find on any of a million political sites throughout the "series of tubes" known as the internet. I never wanted to just link an article from the news and say, there you have it or just read the Drudge Report to get material. My goal has always been to spend the time, write my own take on things and to write in a way that was enjoyable for others. I pride myself on trying to create opinions, not agreeing with them and I pride myself on finding material before it’s posted on Drudge or other major political blogs.

Some people like that approach, some people don’t. But it’s the way I’ll continue to do it. Frankly, I think blogs like LGF and Michelle Malkin suck. I see average writing, tip-based reporting and a loyal readership. But what do I know? -I see a retarded post on LGF or just a link to a media article and it gets 200 comments. Sometimes, I think to myself that it would be nice to have 300,000 visitors a day but whenever I dare glance at the idiotic and pointless comments left by their readers I have second thoughts.

I try to make every post worth reading and that’s why I only make a new entry about once a day. So, for those of you who can put up with my shit I can honestly say thanks.

It would be nice to break through to the next level but I can’t say if that will ever happen so I’m wondering how exactly to move forward. When I first started I was extremely vicious in my rhetoric, which simultaneously pushed away moderate readers and brought forth the insane leftist stalkers. Granted, being called names like racist, warmonger, Nazi and redneck was fun, it did tend drive the debate into the ground. At the time I wanted to be more mainstream so I ratcheted down the hatred and banned all of my stalkers.

What I didn’t count on was that the insane lefties were dependable and the moderate, more respectable readers were not. My traffic plummeted and my blog started to get a little boring. So, I moved away from being less offensive to the more comfortable zone I’m in now. I’m trying to bring back my old Opinionnation self but I’m hesitant because it makes it harder to be legitimate. I'm wondering If I should just say, fuck it and risk driving possible moderate readers away. I’m leaning towards, Fuck it.

Border Jumpers Swig Red Bull

It Didn’t Give 'Em Wings

Smugglers are reportedly giving immigrants what is known as a “triple stacker” — an ephedrine pill and asprin with a can of Red Bull to wash it all down, Border Patrol agents told WOAI news radio station in Texas.

The caffeine combo, which can lead to dehydration, especially in the scorching temperatures of the deserts, is one of the main reasons for immigrant deaths before they make it into the U.S.
Not securing the border is inhumane.

What the Immigration Debate is Really About

My Brother Was Shot and Nearly Killed by an Illegal Alien
I live in Southern New Mexico; not even 100 miles from the Southern Border. I’ve lived here my entire life and my family lives here. I am 4th generation American (5th and 6th if you count territories). This is my country and I love it. So, I will not have it overrun by millions of illegal aliens looking to exploit my country’s generosity. -But this is not about the swarm of people illegally crossing into the United States. This is about my brother and the one wetback who shot and nearly killed him.

Imagine being shot with a weapon as deadly as a .44 Magnum. On top of that imagine that firearm was loaded with hollow point rounds and the shot came from point blank range. Imagine being airlifted from outside of your home to Thomason Hospital in El Paso, unconscious and dying. Imagine your family awakened at four o'clock in the morning to news of your pending death. Then imagine the look on the faces of your family when they enter the emergency room to see that your bloated and nearly unrecognizable body is lying in a pool of blood with half a dozen tubes hanging out of your torso.

You’re in a medically induced coma now and the doctors are telling your loved ones that there is really no hope of you making it out alive. A priest is present offering your last rites by the request of your father who can’t help but weep knowing your death is almost certain. Days and weeks go by but by some miracle you’re still alive. Soon, you wake up. Beyond the belief of the doctors you’re recovering and able to respond to stimuli. Months pass and you're in the care of you wife back at home. However, because you’re intestines were blown apart and your one good kidney continues to fail every month or so, you start to believe that being alive is not such a good thing. Having to wear a colostomy bag the rest of your life coupled with the agonizing pain brings reality to the doorstep.

The only comfort you’re family has is knowing the person who shot you is in jail awaiting sentencing. Unfortunately, that comfort is short lived when the illegal alien, named Manuel Saeaz is charged only with assault with a deadly weapon. The notion of justice is buried with you’re future when after only 18 months the person is released from prison to be sent to his home country of Mexico. -The next day he’s back in the United States living not even 3 miles from you.

--Unfortunately, I don’t have to imagine what it’s like because my brother was nearly murdered in front of his own home by a fuckin’ wetback. I was there in the hospital and I can tell you that seeing my bother lying over blood soaked sheets is something I’ll never forget. He will be in pain and will suffer the rest of his life... and this person is free after 18 months and a few hours in Mexico. -LC Sun News Reported the Shooting-

The Immigration debate isn’t a debate at all, for me. This is life and death. This is about justice and the Constitution of the United States. -a lot of people see the border situation as a human rights issue. But what about my rights! Huh? What about the right not to be murdered. This is our country; not theirs. The so called immigrant “rights” some people are ascribing these illegal aliens cost my brother and many other families more than you’ll ever know. So don’t give me that bleeding heart bullshit. To that I say, to hell with you.

It is the duty of our leaders to secure the border of the United States. Not doing so constitutes a clear and present danger to our liberty and to the security of this country. Failure to act requires action on the part of every American citizen against not only the foreign invaders but the federal government. No Amnesty without security. No liberty without sovereignty. And no justice without laws.

Is O’Reilly’s Staff Reading My Blog?

Tonight, O’Reilly mentioned a story that I found and reported on yesterday about how the Washington Post used the deaths of seven afghani kids to push an anti-military agenda (Seven Children Dead; WAPO Salivates). During the Talking Points Memo, O’Reilly basically summarized exactly what I said in the post. Check out the replay tonight at 11pm eastern to see what I mean. (I think I was the only legitimate blogger to actually write something about the how the story was used)

Also, last week, I was, from what I saw, the only Republican blogger who pointed out the AP hit piece directed at Fox News (The War on Fox News) . I even sent it to some major blogs but the story was ignored. However, the next day on the O’Reilly Factor they mentioned the article and again basically summarized my take on the piece.

Update: I uploaded the T-Points memo from last week. I posted it in the War on Fox News if you want to check it out.

Last week I thought it was just a coincidence but after tonight I’m leaning towards thinking that I might have a couple of fans. Or his staff and I think alike and we happened to say the exact same thing....

ABC Breaks Some No Shit News

According to ABC, the Democratic presidential candidates are moving to the left of even John Kerry in this campaign season; Making it very easy to placate their liberal base but very difficult for them to capture the moderate vote in 2008.

(
ABC News) In recent months, virtually the entire Democratic field has tacked left -- not just on the Iraq War, but on health care, taxes, energy issues and gay rights. In each of those areas, much of the field is standing to the left of where Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., stood in 2004, when President Bush lampooned Kerry as a "Massachusetts liberal."

"They're responding to the reality of the primaries, where the center of gravity is far to the left of the electorate as a whole," said Erik Smith, a Democratic consultant who is not affiliated with any of the 2008 candidates. "The discussion with the greater American public is just getting started. They have plenty of time to define themselves, but you don't come all the way back to the center."

The Democratic Party has a tendency to shoot themselves in the collective foot during election cycles. And from what I can tell, this cycle will be no different. Now, I may be relatively young... but I do know politics.

The problem for the Dems is that their base is insane. I say that with all seriousness...they’re insane! So I can somewhat sympathize with their tactics. The candidates have to (in their minds) pander to these people in order to be nominated. And they think, when the process is over, that they can somehow snap back into the realm of responsible governance. -of course, they can’t.

The American voter wants realism above anything else. It’s about realism. Yet, politicians have never figured this out. They think pandering, switching accents, and pretending to be down to earth is the way to go. There is no other way to explain it, then to say that our leaders think we’re stupid. The American people are cynical bullshit artists and if there’s one thing we know; it’s how to recognize bullshit.

Every time I see one of these candidates speak (both Republican and Democrat) I have the sinking feeling that this country is in deep trouble. I don’t see leaders when I look at these people... I see empty suits. -The country may be tired of Republicans but they sure as hell ain’t happy with Democrats. Especially not these candidates:

"Lots of people say, 'I want a Democrat,' but when they see the particulars, they say, 'I don't want that Democrat,'" said Jeffrey Berry, a political science professor at Tufts University. "The thing that's amazing about the Democrats is that they could still snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. The major Democrats are all now well to the left of the median voter."

Seven Children Dead; WAPO Salivates

Everyone knows the damn game! The problem is that many people in the media (and in a certain political party) really don’t care. And so we get stories with headlines like this:

U.S.-Led Airstrike Kills 7 Children in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, June 18 -- U.S.-led coalition forces killed seven children in an airstrike against a suspected al-Qaeda hideout in Afghanistan on Sunday, adding to a civilian death toll that has become an increasing source of tension between the coalition and the government of Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

The airstrike in the eastern Afghanistan province of Paktika also killed several insurgents, the coalition said in a statement, and was carried out after security forces confirmed "nefarious activity" at the site, which included a mosque and a madrassa, or religious school.

Notice how they switched the main point and the sub-point to fit their ideological bent. It’s not, US forces killed several terrorists in an airstrike, it’s US forces killed seven children. Only in passing do they mention that oh yeah, it “also killed several insurgents”.

The targets were the insurgents. They were hit. The children happened to get killed only because these people use civilian areas to conduct operational planning and launch attacks. That’s the fuckin’ story!

And It’s not like the media cares about children dying or Americans dying for that matter. More people have been murdered in California alone during the war in Iraq than actual soldiers have been killed on the ground in both Iraq and Afghanistan. But we don’t hear about that because there is no agenda to be pushed. But if you can get a nice anti-military headline... then the “outrage” shows up.

The Anti-Hillary Dirty Tricks War

Somehow, pointing out that Hillary Clinton is a liar and has been unfortunate enough to be caught up in some questionable legal mishaps, constitutes a “dirty-trick smear job” on the part of Republican operatives... at least in the eyes of the ultra-left Guardian.

On the Guardian’s breaking news section they link to a world news article about how “anti-Hillary” forces are creeping through the shadows, rounding up damning evidence against Mrs. Clinton in order to derail her presidential campaign.

(
Guardian Unlimited) She's ahead in the polls and on course to become the Democrats' presidential candidate for 2008. So it is no surprise that a right-wing smear campaign is gathering speed to derail Senator Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House.

Top of the list of projects is a planned movie, being filmed by veteran Republican operator David Bossie... Bossie is being helped in the project by Dick Morris, a former top Clinton aide who has become a leading Clinton critic. The film aims to delve into past Clinton scandals, such as the Whitewater real estate deals, and to dig up new dirt... The film also has the backing of other veteran Republican dirty-tricks campaigners.

A slew of conservative books on Clinton are also planned for release or have already hit the stores. These include The Extreme Makeover of Hillary Rodham Clinton, by Bay Buchanan and Whitewash by Brent Bozell, a veteran conservative who will try to show that Clinton is a pawn of the liberal media...

Hillary Clinton is starting to be targeted by the mainstream campaigns of top-tier Republican candidates such as Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Mitt Romney. The Republican approach has been to maintain a distance between the dirty tricks-style operators and their senior figures.

But one of the main reasons why the Republican whispering campaign against Clinton is starting so early is simply how well Clinton is doing... Her campaign is prepared for a conservative attack, no matter how dirty. On the campaign trail, one of her slogans is: 'I know how Washington Republicans think, how they operate and how to beat them.' Her staff have vowed not to repeat Kerry's 2004 mistake with the Swift Boat campaign.

I couldn’t post the whole article because the whining dragged on forever. But trust me when I say the words dirty, trick, smear, swiftboat were all used several times. -Because when you're protecting a fellow liberal from being “smeared” the only option, as a responsible objective journalist, is to smear those who are going after Hillary.

Meanwhile, Clinton is shaking hands with her adoring Che-loving comrades.

Surprise: Democrats Have Done Nothing...

...And the Left is pissed off.
The base of the Democratic Party is upset with Nancy Pelosi for her lack of action with regard to Iraq and her impotent policy agenda.

(
Robert Novak) The powerful left wing of the House Democratic Caucus is unhappy with Speaker Nancy Pelosi for being too attentive to a handful of moderate members, especially those elected last year from normally Republican districts.

Protesting liberals grumble Pelosi has been too cautious setting policy during six months in the majority, especially regarding the Iraq war. The response is that Democrats will revert to minority status in the House if they stray too far to the left.

The liberal reaction to their newly empowered party leaders wasn’t that difficult to foresee. So, I wasn’t shocked to hear that the far-left of the Democratic Party is upset with Nancy Pelosi; I tried to warn them.

From, Meet the New Boss Same as the Old Boss:

the Dems have officially taken power in the United States Congress. Fittingly, they are led by the ultra-liberal Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco. But aside from what this means in terms of differing views on policies and philosophies, what does it mean with regards to the prospect of change?

Democrats have and always will be as corrupt, if not more corrupt, than Republicans. So the country isn’t getting anything favorable in the sense of corruption. The Democrats pushed for the war in Iraq and will not rally together to immediately pull out of that particular theater. So, we’re not getting anything new in terms of the war. The Economy is doing very well and the dems will not have enough of a consensus to repeal the entirety of the Bush Tax Cuts.

And they won’t even do anything relevant about the instituted terrorist-fighting policies put forth by the Administration. The Patriot Act, the NSA programs and the rest of the so-called controversial programs aren’t going anywhere. It’s funny because so many Democratic voters take the political rhetoric of the DNC seriously. The fundamental flaw that most on the left possess, is that they actually believe what calculating politicians tell them. Sorry to disappoint you... but you ain’t gonna get what you fought so hard for.
What we had here was the classic, shove as much bullshit down these retards' throats, in hopes they forget that we happen to be good-for-nothing democrats, plan. --And the nutroots bought it. The Democratic Party had like 4 decades to fix social security, fix the health care system, fix our educational problems, and deal with growing foreign threats. For 4o years the Dems have been running on the same healthcare/poverty platform... And the problems have only gotten worse. You would think by now that Demcoratic Voters would have caught on.

Peace Seeking Victims Take Over Gaza

Don’t blame Hamas; they’re not murderous thugs... This is all just one huge mistake. They thought those flags flying over the Strip were Israeli.

(
Sky News) "The president will now issue a decree dissolving the government and declaring a state of emergency," said the source.

Hamas fighters overran the headquarters of their rival Fatah's Preventive Security force, as the factional fighting in Gaza continues.

One witness said security men had been executed in the street, while the bodies of 18 Hamas men were found in the compound.

Hamas also captured an intelligence base and seized control of the two of Rafah on the Egyptian border.

The capture of the Preventive Security headquarters is seen as a major step forward in Hamas' attempts to complete its takeover of Gaza.

At least 80 people, mostly gunmen but also children and other civilians, have been killed in the factional clashes.

Operation Kill All Republicans

Broward County Democratic leaders want to stop airing emergency information on their official emergency broadcast channel because it happens to be in partnership with Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Fox News.

(
Sun-Sentinel) Radio station WIOD, AM 610, has been the official channel for emergency information from Broward County government for the past year. The County Commission, all Democrats, balked at renewing the deal Tuesday, unable to stomach the station also being home to Limbaugh’s talk show.

Commissioner Stacy Ritter said she did not want to support a station that’s out of step with area politics. Ritter, a Democratic stalwart in the state Legislature before being elected to county office, cited talk shows hosted by Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and WIOD’s partnership with Fox News.

Now that’s tolerance! I mean who cares about saving lives when there’s some good ole hatred to be had?

The War on Fox News

The war against Fox News continues with a little hit piece by AP writer, David Bauder. However, because the AP’s ideological bent swings wildly to the left, they are unable to see that their own effort to discredit FNC proved only, that the competing media outlets carry a liberal bias:

(
Associated Press) On a winter day when bomb blasts at an Iraqi university killed dozens and the United Nations estimated that 34,000 civilians in Iraq had died in 2006, MSNBC spent nearly nine minutes on the stories during the 1 p.m. hour. A CNN correspondent in Iraq did a three-minute report about the bombings. -Neither story merited a mention on Fox News Channel that hour.

That wasn't unusual. Fox spent half as much time covering the Iraq war than MSNBC during the first three months of the year, and considerably less than CNN, according to the Project for Excellence in Journalism.

The difference was more stark during daytime news hours than in prime-time opinion shows. The Iraq war occupied 20 percent of CNN's daytime news hole and 18 percent of MSNBC's. On Fox, the war was talked about only 6 percent of the time...

Another story that has reflected poorly on the Bush administration, the controversy over U.S. attorney firings, also received more attention on MSNBC (8 percent of the newshole) and CNN (4 percent) than on Fox (2 percent), the Project for Excellence in Journalism found.

According to the “Project for Excellence in Journalism" (never heard of em) Fox spent half as much time covering the war in Iraq as MSNBC and CNN. Fox also spent less time reporting on the Alberto Gonzales situation. -obvious bias if you're a lefty. But let’s try to qualify these findings shall we. Assuming the PEJ study is accurate.

I’ll start with the Gonzales firings. -It is an overblown non-story that is irrelevant given presidential prerogative and more importantly, precedent. So, pointing out that MSNBC and CNN is making a huge deal of this non-story while FNC is not, shows the level to which both MSNBC and CNN are willing to go to damage this White House. -Thanks for pointing that out, AP.

Moving on to the Iraq coverage: I’ll take the study’s word for it and say that yeah, Fox News spends half the time reporting about the war. Some more obvious Republican bias, right? -No. Because 100% of the coverage coming out of MSNBC and CNN is negative. The two cable networks soak up every minute of terrorist propaganda and scenes of death they can; so it’s not surprising. Not to mention, they spend virtually no time on the fact that Iran is building nuclear weapons while killing American soldiers in Iraq. For some odd reason, these beacons of truth, seem to always miss that.

Hey, but the point of the article is not fairness; rather to feed the nutroots paranoia in order to further pressure their presidential candidates to abandon Fox News. And you can bet that they ate it up..

O'Reilly Responds

Peace Is Just Two Fingers Now

I feel this, “Song of the Week” choice needs a little explanation. -For being a very hawkish Republican it might be somewhat weird that I like peace and anti-establishment music. But I do.

I, like many of my “peace”-loving friends, wish we lived in a world that was made up of harmonious life and cute white unicorns bouncing around lush fields of green grass with beautiful candy flavored rainbows overhead... Unfortunately, I live in the real world where people want to kill me, you, and your infant daughter by chopping off our heads. So I tend to quench my naive optimism and escape to that other place with some alternative rock.

Plus, it’s a damn good song.

Bush Sips Non-Alcoholic Beer; The Lefty-World Crumbles

While in Germany, President Bush was pictured sipping a cold brew during a friendly conversation with a few world leaders. Apparently, this is a great injustice thrust upon the now vulnerable American people. Thus, a rapid investigative endeavor was launched to discover just what the president was drinking by one of the blogosphere's premier liberal websites .

Here’s the picture that nearly collapsed the foundational struts of the “progressive” psyche:

From AmericaBlog (John Aravosis)

Bush is an alcoholic. We have the right to know if he's fallen off the wagon, as this would be incredibly serious in any job, let alone the leader of the free world, and the commander in chief during war time.

Aravosis continues with some feigned objectivity and a plethora of irrelevant stats:

It is irrelevant whether you love Bush or hate him, whether you think this is a private matter or not. If Bush were running a major corporation and were an alcoholic who had fallen off the wagon, he'd likely be removed from his job by the board. If he were a general, he'd be fired.

He clearly drank from either a beer or a near beer in Germany. Which one was it? And in any case, near beer contains alcohol (0.5% or less), something is verbotten to alcoholics. And keep in mind that American beer is between 2.8% and 3.8% (or so) alcohol content, so 0.5% is actually larger than it seems. That's potentially 1/6 of a beer, or, rather, if you drink 3 of them, that's half a beer - something that, in my lightweight case, still gives me a small buzz. For an alcoholic, that small buzz is everything. And in any case, what would an alcoholic be doing touching alcohol at all? I thought even a sip was off limits?

Come on media, this is serious this time. What was he drinking? Andy Towle, over at TowleRoad, tells me he thinks this might be a Buckler brand beer. Anyone know?

I like how it starts off with, “Bush is an alcoholic” as if because he says it, it's true. -Bush is not a recovering alcoholic... he just stopped drinking beer. But why let reality get in the way of some nice BDS. Not to mention that most, if not all, presidents drank while in office... even those acting as commander in chief.

Anyway, it turns out that the President was, in fact, drinking Buckler, a non-alcoholic beer. --But come on media, this is serious this time.

Could You Kill People Less Openly, Please?

I wonder what goes through the mind of the "anti-war" (pro-dictator and pro-mass slaughter) crowd, when shoved down their throats is example after example of acts of war perpetrated by the Iranian regime?

(
ABC News) NATO officials say they have caught Iran red-handed, shipping heavy arms, C4 explosives and advanced roadside bombs to the Taliban for use against NATO forces, in what the officials say is a dramatic escalation of Iran's proxy war against the United States and Great Britain.

I have a feeling that to them, the ends justify the means -If Iran is successful in killing the “mercenaries” in Iraq and their beloved freedom fighters kill enough innocent people, the faster the United States is forced to withdraw.

Underneath it all (and in many cases, out in the open) the pro-dictator movement is more than happy to see Iran aiding in what they hope is the defeat of the United States.

Canadian PM: Bono Can Suck My Ass

Stephen Harper is trying to run a country. He doesn’t have time to listen to douchebag singers and their oversized sunglasses. Now if all the world’s leaders would take a page from Harper, we will be much better off.

HEILIGENDAMM, Germany - You can stop staring hopefully at that phone, Bono. Prime Minister Stephen Harper will not be calling.

Harper, a somewhat wooden figure regularly mocked for his lack of flair, told reporters on Thursday that meeting Bono was not a priority.

"I've got to say that meeting celebrities isn't kind of my shtick, that was the shtick of the previous guy," said Harper in a dig at his Liberal predecessor Paul Martin, who met Bono regularly.

"I hope we do it at some point but my principle focus in public policies is not kind of to meet celebrities," added the prime minister, a Conservative.

And El Bano, no matter how much good you do in this world, it will never make up for the years of crappy music we have had put up with.

Plane Crash Kills Medical Team, Patients Hopes

Imagine being in critical condition awaiting a possible life saving heart transplant. You’re overjoyed to hear that your name is atop the waiting list and the University of Michigan is flying a medical team and your new heart direct to your hospital room via private plane. You’re beginning to prep for surgery and really starting to prep for your new life. You think to yourself, I might be able to make it through this.

It’s an hour before surgery now and you have the whole world in front of you. While contemplating the risk of the operation, your fears are outweighed by the thoughts of your family and how great it will be to give them your full love and attention. -everything is working out. The problem, which you are yet to be made aware of, is that the plane carrying your heart, along with the advanced medical team, just crashed killing everyone on board.

ANN ARBOR, MICH. - The patient lay on the operating table, prepped for transplant surgery. In the air over Lake Michigan, a twin-engine plane sped his way, carrying a team of surgeons and technicians, along with a donor organ on ice.

The plane never made it, crashing into the lake's choppy waters and killing all six people aboard Monday. Now the critically ill patient could become the accident's seventh fatality.

"It was a very sad moment in the operating room" when word was received that the plane had gone down on its way from Milwaukee, said Dr. Jeffrey Punch, chief of transplant surgery at the University of Michigan Health System hospital in Ann Arbor.

Update: Speculation led me to believe that the patient needed a heart when in fact it was a pair of lungs. The man was lucky enough to recieve a new set of lungs on Friday after the first were lost in the crash

The Republican Debate

Why the fuck was the belief in God a major piece of the debate? Evolution, Creationism, God-magic... what does that have to do with anything! How about getting serious for once.

We face truly dangerous and life-changing problems in this country and we're in a long term war against terrorism. Whether you believe that god created the earth in 6 days or you understand evolution, it’s not relevant.

And this just in: Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Get over it!

The Culture of Incorruptible Corruption

We all remember William “you can take that to the freezer” Jefferson. Well, It’s been a long time coming but today he was finally indicted for racketeering, money-laundering and soliciting bribes. Forever cementing the Democrats' most ethical congress ever.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, D-Louisiana, was indicted Monday on federal charges of racketeering, soliciting bribes and money-laundering in a long-running bribery investigation into business deals he tried to broker in Africa.

The indictment handed up Monday in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, is 94 pages long and lists 16 alleged violations of federal law that could keep Jefferson in prison for up to 235 years, according to a Justice Department official who has seen the document.'

Man Awakens From 19-Year Coma

The guy gets hit by a train, falls into a coma, doctors find cancer in his brain, and he's only given a few months to live.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The last time Jan Grzebski (yahn grez-EB'-skee) was able to walk and talk, Ronald Reagan was president, the Dodgers won the World Series, and Poland was communist.

The Polish railway worker was hit by a train in 1988 and fell into a coma. Doctors also found cancer in his brain and said he wouldn't live much longer.

But, 19 years later, he is not only still alive — he has come out of his coma.
The 65-year-old credits his wife's round-the-clock care. When doctors could do no more, Gertruda took him home and cared for him. She admits it wasn't easy — but she believed he would recover.

She tells a Polish newspaper she would "fly into a rage every time someone would say that people like him should be euthanized, so they don't suffer."

It’s hard to imagine waking up after 19 years. I don’t know how I would take it. First of all, I wouldn’t remember the accident that put me in the hospital; that would be weird. Secondly, I wouldn’t know how to react to everyone telling me that 19 years has past.

I would probably think that I was actually dead and this was some kind of sick joke from a Twilight Zone hell.

Terrorists Moving Towards War on Terror

While John Edwards and the Democratic Party are moving past the “bumber sticker” known as the war on terror, terrorists are trying to kill us in spectacular fashion. But Shhh, no one tell them:

(WNBC.Com) As first reported by NewsChannel4's Jonathan Dienst, three people were arrested and one other was being sought Saturday in connection to a plot to blow up jet-fuel lines at John F. Kennedy International Airport, officials said.

Four people have been charged. Three suspects are in custody: Russell Defreitas, Kareem Ibrihim and Abdul Kadir. Another suspect, Abdul Nur is still at large.

Sources said Defreitas, a former cargo worker at JFK allegedly began to plot attacking the US last July or August. Defeitas sought help in carrying out a plan and went to an FBI informant, who gathered information about the plot.

U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf called it "one of the most chilling plots imaginable. The devastation that would be caused had this plot succeeded is just unthinkable," she said at a news conference.

And luckily I don’t have to do my obligatory, “the lefty sites have totally blacked out this story” paragraph because LGF has already checked the premier “progressive” blogs for any word on the matter. Needless to say, not a peep.

Update, June 3: John Murtha Blames Bush for Terrorist Plot... Seriously.
