Congress Approves ‘Torture’… Of U.S. Troops

Black Five begs the Question: If waterboarding is torture and torture is illegal, then didn't Congress break the law every year when they passed a military budget that contains funds specifically dedicated to conducting waterboarding as a matter of course?

And that matter of course is known as S.E.R.E (Survival, Escape, Resistance, and Evasion) training. The Democratic Party has long argued that waterboarding and the other methods used by the US military to extract information from terrorist detainees are, in reality, “torture”. However, the Democratic-controlled Congress has continued to fund military training in which our servicemen are put through interrogation resistance techniques designed to help them withstand harsh treatment if captured. -The very same coercive techniques used against suspected terrorists.

Naturally, this leads me to wonder why the Democratic leadership is so concerned about the well being of Al Qaeda, while at the same time, completely unphased that (according to their own argument) our men and women are being “tortured” as a part of their resistance training. -So waterboarding is evil for Jihadis but is A-OK on our troops?
