"Imagine" by John Lennon

The deconstruction of the mind-boggling stupidity of the song, "Imagine".
By, Opinionnation:

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

If there were no heaven people would be less likely to control themselves based on the absence of a rewarding afterlife. If there were no hell, people would be more likely to act purely on violent impulse because of the absence of fear. If everyone were living for today, the likelihood of chaos in the streets increases dramatically. Providing, if in this imaginary world, human necessity (food, water, shelter, etc.) still exist. -Wow, that was easy!

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

Hmm? No structural governance for mass populations of tens of millions of people comprised of differing races and creeds? Well, knowing the nature of man and given our basic animalistic instincts, I’m sure nothing can go wrong there…

And no religion, too? Now that one is a little harder. –If he means, imagine the world if religion never existed at any time, I might have trouble condensing the total catastrophe of that reality. The world would have never left the Stone Age, the US would not exist nor would any modern city (no scientific breakthroughs like space travel, etc.). Not to mention
Marxism is responsible for the deaths of 110 million people.

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

Obviously, the absence of material possessions doesn’t change the fact that we need life sustaining nourishment to live. We would still have to fight for our own supply of food and water; not only for us but for our children. So yes, greed, despite no possessions, would still exist. In fact it would exist at a life threatening scale. Of course, without corporate-controlled transportation we couldn’t share the world. We would all be forced to deal with those people who lived in the immediate area. And we would have to stake claim to a territory of clean water, food and shelter...

-I think what Lennon meant to say is: Imagine if human beings weren’t human.
