Geraldine Ferraro made an interesting observation this week. If you're a regular reader of this blog it’s not really a new observation, I’ve made the case a few times now… but it's still interesting. And as usual, leave it to common sense like this to infuriate the liberal blogosphere:
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," Ferraro continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."As you can imagine, that little bit of truth set ablaze the media and the far-left (pardon the redundancy) with cries of racism.
But yes… he is lucky! If he happened to have his mother’s light skin no one would have ever heard of Barack Obama. Oprah would have never campaigned for Barack Obama. He would just be an ordinary man. But because he’s black, his obvious talent and charisma has been magnified. They’re magnified because of the grand misperception of the ever elusive, articulate black man.
It’s pure racism at its heart. 99% of people who support Barack Obama have no clue who the man is or what positions he holds. They like him because it’s something new to them. They are mesmerized not because of his individual talent and charisma. They are mesmerized because he has black skin…plus talent and charisma.
However, most Democrats who support Obama will never admit to having such a character flaw. The truth is, most of them probably don’t even realize. But they do see a black man first. And everyone that you hear decrying Geraldine Ferraro, are in fact, themselves, the racists.
